Research Interests and Bio

My research interests are in systems support for (big) data management to enable efficient use of modern and future hardware. I work at the intersection of systems, data management, and computer architecture. I believe that one needs to adopt a holistic approach in order to address the system's challenges imposed both by emerging hardware and computing platforms and by the ever growing need to efficiently process, analyze and make sense of data collected at unprecedented rates. If you would like to get a more detailed overview of my research, please check my research statement.

Before joining TUM in 2020, I was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London. I completed my PhD at ETH Zurich in 2017, where I was advised by Gustavo Alonso and Timothy Roscoe. I also held roles at Microsoft Research and Oracle Labs. More details can be found in my CV.
